I just built a house on 4A it sits on top of a pretty large hill, since I'm a little cash poor after this house thing I'm looking at a used JD Compact tractor, I found a 99 4200 Hydro MFWD with a 420 loader and mid PTO with 400 hrs, condition is 8 out of 10, I can get it for $12,500, what I need to know is this a decent price or should I keep looking? Also will this do what I need it to, work up all this dirt on this 4A to achieve a nice yard, and mow it after I get it that way, I feel I have to have the MFWD for the hill, I tried my buddies 455 it had a hard time!
Any bad troubles with the 4200 that at this price I can't live with! Thanks

I have a 2001 4200 MFWD. The only things I've heard regarding the 4200's is one of tire scuffing with an older style front axle. There is a huge thread here about that problem I'm sure you can find. Good luck with your search. I hope this helps. ....
